AICCON Research Area activity observe and analyse economic and social changes tacking advantage of an impressive experience in the research field. AICCON Research Area has expanded its network via projects carried out in collaboration with both Italian and International Universities, as well as other institutions of the Civil Economy.

The Association has developed different research areas: on the one hand it conducts “basic” (or academic) research studies with the support of Italian and International scholars involved with Civil Economy issues.
On the other hand, it conducts “applied” research studies in collaboration with experts and practitioners in order to address the expressed demand of co-operative and non-profit institutions, as well as of the public sector and interested for-profit enterprises.

• Promotion, coordination, and carrying out of research studies concerning co-operative firms, foundations, and non-profit organisations;
• Promotion, editing, and financing of books, studies, and research reports publication through its own publishing series (The Working Paper Collection on Civil Economy) and other ones;
• Organisation of research seminars and conferences for spreading research outcomes (for example Workshop of Social Economy and The Young Economists’ Workshop On Social Economy);
• Starting and implementing process of community and social planning.
